The Filaventure Brun de Vian-Tiran

Boutique of the Brun de Vian-Tiran factory and Sensorial Museum

Pierre and Jean-Louis Brun, 7th and 8th generations of the two hundred year old Brun de Vian-Tiran family-run company, wanted to share their wonderful noble fibre manufacturing activity with you.

Brun de Vian-Tiran has received the prize for the Most Beautiful Family Business in the World. This award recognize also the entire sustainable ecosystem surrounding our factory, from the animal breeders to the designers and from the factory workers to our faithful customers, handing down our fabrics from parents to children.

In one wing of the factory, the Filaventure offers you 1h30 of discovery and immersion: travel to all the continents in a quest for the softest fibres in the world, watch the creation of a precious fabric from backstage, follow the steps transforming a bale of wool into a luxurious finished product.  Throughout the visit, you can discover and touch wools from merinos, yaks, cashmere goats …, experience an immersion in a cinema where the screens are bundles of threads, run real machines, view each step in the transformation of the fabric, listen to true stories told by wool workers … A real experience in the heart of the materials and of our know-how.

Our younger visitors receive an activity booklet (in French and in English) encouraging them to carry out an enquiry guided by Edgar the sheep, our little mascot.

The visit, with descriptions in French and in English, finishes in our Boutique where you will find cloths and items we have been manufacturing in Isle-sur-la-Sorgue since 1808: in the worlds of fashion, of decoration and of night-time comfort, discover scarves, shawls, tote-bags, Ponchos and bags, throws, blankets, quilts, pillows, … from this Living Heritage Enterprise with over two centuries of experience.

On reservation or on demand : the ‘1808 tour’, a visit through the town’s textile history and the factory. Meet the craftmen, discover an eco-friendly ecosystem from the shepherd to the designer, a model for a softer world
