Drawing class: L’art romain du Louvre

This drawing class is held at the Musée de la Romanité in Nîmes, right in front of the ancient sculptures on show in « L’art romain du Louvre. Un monde d’image ».

The session is devoted to academic drawing and welcomes hobbyists and experienced artists alike. Beginners can go back over the fundamentals, while more seasoned draughtspeople sharpen their technique before works of Hellenistic inspiration: men, women, couples, heads, busts, and bodies that are whole or fragmentary, nude or draped.

The class is taught by the drawing artist Elisa Laugier Martinez and runs for 1.5 hours. It takes place inside the exhibition while it is closed to visitors, and each session focuses on a different work. Participants are given a graphite pencil and A4 sheets of paper.
