A jewel of Cistercian art

Pure witness to the influence of the order in Provence, the Silvacane Abbey built in the 12th century stands majestically against the foothills of the Luberon.

Along with Sénanque and Le Thoronet, Silvacane is one of the three Cistercian abbeys in Provence known as the “three Provençal sisters”, bearing witness to the great influence of the Cistercian order in Provence.

Of essentially Romanesque expression, the purity of its lines, the balance of volumes and proportions make it a place of serenity and light.

Cultural events

Throughout the year, the abbey offers a wide range of cultural events, including exhibitions, concerts, festivals and original encounters.
