Contact and information
The guided tour of Silvacane Abbey in La Roque-d’Anthéron lets you explore a Cistercian site at an unhurried pace, from the gardens all the way to the pond.
Gardens, pond and the spiritual feel of a Cistercian abbey
This Cistercian abbey encourages visitors to slow down. The visit begins in the gardens and beside the pond, whose calming effect is felt almost at once.
Visitors then fall under the spell of the peaceful surroundings, their spiritual dimension and a past that made Silvacane the “birthplace of La Roque”.
Self-guided visit, audio guide or tour with commentary at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
There are three ways to discover the abbey, depending on what suits you best.
- The self-guided visit is done independently with the visitor guide, and takes 30 minutes at the very least.
- The audio-guided visit relies on an audio guide that can be rented for €2 and provides 75 minutes of listening. You can also use the Wivisites app on your smartphone, free of charge.
- The tour with commentary takes place every Sunday except on public holidays, from September to June, at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. In July and August, it runs every day, at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. (15:30).
Outside these times, a daily tour with commentary can still be arranged by reservation for 8 people or more, at a surcharge of €0.50 per person.
