The Aven d’Orgnac Grand Site de France, in Orgnac-l’Aven, marks the Fête de la Science with a screening of Guillaume Mazille’s film about animal life in the Ardèche.
A screening as the “Belles Bêtes” exhibition comes down
The screening coincides with the dismantling of the “Belles Bêtes” photo exhibition, an immersive display of wildlife pictures by Guillaume Mazille. It was on show at the Cité de la Préhistoire from 2022 to 2025 and is on loan to the Monts d’Ardèche regional nature park (PNR) in 2026. Admission is free while places remain, though it is best to book online.
A drought threatens wildlife along the Cèze
Immobilised by Covid, the photographer filmed the wildlife of his own region on the Cèze, a few kilometres from Orgnac, creating a poetic and introspective work. Then a drought puts the river’s source at risk, and with it the survival of the animals he has grown attached to. Will life, in all its power, win out in the end? The film is described as a “sensitive and extraordinary film” that should not be missed.
Guillaume Mazille, more than 20 years among wild animals
Produced by Be kind Rewild and released in 2025 (France, 90 minutes), the film is directed by Guillaume Mazille. A wildlife photographer and filmmaker, he has spent over 20 years observing wild fauna and natural habitats with great sensitivity. He is also behind “La Rivière au bout de mon jardin”, a film devoted to the wild biodiversity of the Ardèche.
