Contact and information
In Aix-en-Provence, Caumont Centre d’Art devotes its winter exhibition to Henri Cartier-Bresson, one of the great names of 20th-century photography and a co-founder of Magnum Photos.
Known as “the eye of the century”, the photographer spent nearly 70 years travelling across Europe. He observed its inhabitants, the changes the continent went through and the great upheavals that shaped his era.
The exhibition brings together more than 100 photographs. Well-known images hang beside pictures that are seldom displayed, and some that have never been shown before. From 5 November, visitors can explore Europe as Henri Cartier-Bresson saw it through his viewfinder.
