Fouquet et Sévigné dans les coulisses du Grand Siècle

During the All Saints’ Day school break, the Château de Grignan opens its doors in the evening for a nighttime walking tour, set in rooms lit by candlelight and following the trail of Nicolas Fouquet.

Fouquet’s story told by Madame de Sévigné and the Grignan couple

This evening is part of the Nicolas Fouquet Affair – Année Sévigné. Visitors accompany Madame de Sévigné, the Grignan couple and Monsieur Flame, who recount the “folle histoire de Fouquet”, the wild story of the superintendent. Along the way, they also learn about the “Chickens Affair”, which caused the Marquise great anxiety and very nearly compromised her.

The terrace, the first floor and the historic apartments by candlelight

The walking route leads through the terrace, the first floor and the castle’s historic apartments. Visitors enter the rooms at set times, at 6:30 pm, 7:00 pm and 7:30 pm, and the evening runs from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm on Fridays, October 23 and 30, 2026.

A ticket from €10 to €13 that also covers the free visit of the castle

The ticket also includes the self-guided visit of the castle and the “L’Affaire Fouquet” trail.

Accessibility: a theatrical tour not suited to wheelchairs

The theatrical walking tour passes through very confined spaces, with steps and uneven floors. For this reason, it cannot safely accommodate wheelchair users.
