Contact and information
At the Pont du Gard Site in Vers-Pont-du-Gard, the leather bulla workshop invites families to step into Roman childhood by making a bulla of their own.
The bulla, a lucky pouch for future Roman citizens
The bulla was a small pouch hung around the neck of children who were destined to become Roman citizens. Inside were “gris-gris”, little lucky charms believed to bring good fortune.
A leather amulet to take home and fill with your secrets
When the piece is finished, each participant leaves with a leather amulet in which they can tuck away their most treasured secrets. Children learn something along the way, and have fun while they do.
A 2-hour family workshop from age 6, with the discovery areas included
The workshop lasts about 2 hours and is designed for families with children aged 6 and up. The ticket also opens the doors to the discovery areas: the museum, the cinema, the Ludo play area for children and the exhibition. It can only be used on the day and at the time slot you have chosen.
