Materia Cuentera exhibition

At La Chartreuse in Villeneuve-lez-Avignon, the Materia Cuentera exhibition sets the work of two Ecuadorian artists, Nicolás Aguirre and Pedro Riofrío, alongside that of guest artist Mc de Beyssac (Échangeur22).

Ten years after they last worked together, Nicolás Aguirre and Pedro Riofrío are reunited. Through sculptures, installations and natural materials (cactus, wax, coral, mushrooms), they explore what links nature, memory and transformation.

The third artist in the exhibition, Mc de Beyssac (Échangeur22), engages in dialogue with these works. Her focus is on metamorphoses and on the stories that shape living things. Visitors are invited to look at matter, and at the stories it holds, in a new way.
