The Barocco Tango Trio plays a concert in the Adhémar gallery of the Château de Grignan, with a programme that sets Bach in conversation with Piazzolla. The evening also brings back the “Musique au château” festival.

The “Musique au château” festival returns to the Adhémar gallery

After several years on hold, while a new display devoted to the 17th century was being installed, the “Musique au château” festival is back in the sumptuous Adhémar gallery.

Bach and Piazzolla, a dialogue between two geniuses

The trio offers a musical journey that brings together two visionary composers, Johann Sebastian Bach and Astor Piazzolla. With a cello, a bandoneon and a double bass, the musicians let Baroque rigour and the vitality of Argentine tango answer one another. Between pieces, they share stories and anecdotes with humour and a warm rapport. The concert plays on contrasts and emotions, and its music moves freely across centuries and styles.

On the programme: Bach’s Viola da gamba sonata and Piazzolla’s Le Grand Tango

  • Sonata for viola da gamba (Vivace), Johann Sebastian Bach
  • Fughetta & Fuga y Misterio, Bach / Piazzolla
