Special Halloween guided tour: Frissons sur le pont

Halloween at the Site du Pont du Gard in Vers-Pont-du-Gard means a special guided tour, “Frissons sur le pont”, which delves into the gloomiest chapters of the monument’s history.

Site mediators lead visitors through the troubled story of the structure: design mistakes made by people, natural disasters, a short-tempered lord of the manor living nearby, and occupants who were slow to move out. There is no shortage of reasons to shiver.

As night falls, everyone is asked to bring a flashlight, so the tour can finish with a walk along the top of the bridge. With a bit of luck, you may run into the resident ghosts. Visitors who come in costume will be rewarded. The tour is suitable for families, from age 9 up, and reservation is required. Prices range from €6 to €15.
