Contact and information
In Méjannes-le-Clap, the Grotte de la Salamandre hosts De l’Ombre à la Lumière, which pairs a torchlit visit with Immersion, a sound and light show. One cave, seen from two almost opposite angles.
First the half-light: a cave lit only by the visitors’ own lamps
The first part, the torchlit visit, unfolds by the glow of the lamps that each person carries. Eyes adjust gradually, wander, then settle on a relief, a depth or a shape. The rock emerges bit by bit with no staging, so the place feels more intimate and raw.
Then Immersion: light, colour and music fill the cave
Next comes Immersion. Light, colours and music flood the space, volumes shift and the walls seem to change scale. The staging offers a “resolutely contemporary” reading of the cave.
Two experiences designed to echo each other, on the Immersion + Visite Guidée price
In the first, darkness lets each visitor form a personal way of seeing; in the second, light guides the eye and alters perception. The two were conceived as a dialogue, and they are exceptionally combined under the Immersion + Visite Guidée price.
This offer runs from 14 September to 1 November, on the last two departure slots of each day. In September, the torchlit visit leaves at 4 pm and Immersion at 5 pm.
