Côtes du Vivarais blending workshop at the Aven d’Orgnac, 50 m underground!

Fifty metres below ground in the Aven d’Orgnac (Grand Site de France), in Orgnac-l’Aven, a Côtes du Vivarais wine blending workshop lets each participant create a personal cuvée. Afterwards, everyone goes on to visit the cave.

A 1 h 30 workshop with Néovinum in the silence of the aven

In total calm, this is an experience quite out of the ordinary: deep inside the aven, participants “step into the shoes of an oenologist”. The session lasts 1 h 30 and is led by a guide from Néovinum, les Vignerons Ardéchois, who opens by explaining the main principles of winemaking. The workshop is run in partnership with Néovinum.

Grenache and syrah from Orgnac to taste before creating your cuvée

Next comes the tasting. The wines on offer come from the best grenache and syrah plots in the town of Orgnac, and the Vignerons Ardéchois store them in the wine library of the Aven d’Orgnac. This step prepares everyone to picture a cuvée of their own in the Côtes du Vivarais appellation.

Which blend will suit you best? Acidity, sweetness, astringency, roundness: striking the right balance in a wine takes finesse. Each participant blends their own wine, bottles it and designs its label. This fun workshop offers an insight into the subtleties of the appellation, before the trip to the cave.

€30 per person, with your blend and a glass included

The workshop takes place on Saturday 7 November 2026, at 10:15 am and 2:45 pm. The price is €30 per person and covers the blend you create and a glass. Each group is limited to 10 people at most, so places are limited. The stated duration is 2 h 30. Booking is done through the online ticket office of the Aven d’Orgnac.
