The La Pierre en Résonance exhibition brings monumental works by the artist Audrey Guimard to Les Baux-de-Provence. Carved from local stone, they stand between the village and the ruins of the castle.
Audrey Guimard draws on the memory of age-old gestures to offer a contemporary take on time and matter. Her works look as if they were rising out of the rock itself, and they carry visitors across thousands of years all summer long.
In Les Baux-de-Provence, stone is far more than a material: it is “memory, structure and breath”. The exhibition immerses visitors in a sensory experience at the heart of the area’s mineral heritage. The works in the village can be seen free of charge, whereas those at the Château des Baux-de-Provence require the ticket that gives admission to the fortress.
