Nuit de la lecture

At the Chartreuse de Villeneuve-lez-Avignon, actress and writer Julia Duchaussoy reads from her own plays and then meets the audience, as part of the Nuits de la lecture.

Two plays read aloud, the first parts of a theatrical trilogy

The Nuits de la lecture is a national initiative of the French Ministry of Culture, run by the Centre national du livre. For this year’s edition, the Chartreuse welcomes Julia Duchaussoy, who will read a selection of excerpts from her first two plays, «J’irai danser avec les requins» and «Le monde du silence gueule».

Together, these two texts make up the opening instalments of a theatrical trilogy, and the author is currently writing the third part. The plays speak to one another and echo the issues of our times.

A meeting and a discussion with the audience

After the reading, Julia Duchaussoy will take part in a meet-and-greet with the audience, followed by an open discussion with those attending.
